We were recently contact by a local OU student who requested exactly $360 to cover three months of his fiddle lessons.
This young man, a full time student with a part time job, had been taking lessons from Joe Callaway at Blue Eagle Music, but had to stop this Spring when he was unexpectedly hit with a $4,000 vet bill while also experiencing a delay in his student financial aid including the Pell grant and SEOG (which he relied on to help cover cost of living while in school).
This young man said that his fiddle lessons were really helpful in reducing stress.
We were happy to supply the full amount so that he could return to his lessons right away.
These are our favorite types of donations because they help TWO local artists. The money went to providing lessons for one local student/musician and ended up in the hands of another local musician/ instructor.
