A native of Athens, Maria grew up dancing and has a lifelong love of literature and fiber arts. She married a local musician, and together they have two daughters, both members of symphonic choir in school, both acting in numerous local productions, one dancing for 14 years and the other playing the clarinet. The arts are a big part of their family.
Maria has worked with the Studio for Young Actors, Athens Area Arts, Ohio Valley Summer Theater and spent four years as the Business Manager and Business Director of a local nonprofit dance studio. She currently owns and runs an online embroidery design company.
After the passing of some of her very dear friends, Spataro and Q-Bert, she knew she wanted to become involved in the project in hopes of helping more people participate in and enjoy the arts in their memory.
