The 20th annual Lennon Fest was held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Union Bar and Grill in Athens, Ohio, and the event raised close to $800 from concert ticket sales and admissions. Lennon Fest is an annual event where local musicians join together to put on an epoch concert featuring songs written by John Lennon as well as the Beatles.

This years performers who donated their time to the cause included the Come On Come Ons, Wild Honeybees, the Local Union 910 (composed of members of the Blam Blams and the Serfs), Zapple Pie, Sun Boats (members of the Awful Kind and Velvet Green), Steve Zarate and members of the Water Witches, and was produced by Blackout Booking and WLCI 97.5, the student-run radio station at Hocking College’s School of Music.

Special thanks to the Union and Scott Winland and Sean Jones and Jeremy Hayes for putting on a great event, and helping steer the money raised to the Athens Artists Memorial Project. You can read more about this on the Athens NEWS website.
