The Athens Artists Memorial Project, along with The Joe Burrow Foundation, was thrilled to help the Athens High School Art Club with their Mental Health Day.
They had ceramics wheels set up for students to try out showing them the importance of slowing down and being present while working on the wheels. An opportunity for students to take a break, make new friends, and get creative together.
We donated $500 worth of art supplies that they gave away as prizes to students who participated in answering mental health related questions.
The art club was kind enough to gift us with a one-of-a-kind gold ceramic statue that they made for us. I can’t explain how neat this little guy is!

He’s about a foot tall with a guitar, giant eyeballs with tons of lashes, a handlebar mustache and square little teeth with long tongue hanging out of his mouth, He has furry feet with claws, a funky hat, dragon-like tail and wing-like things.
He is SUPER cool and will be auctioned off to one lucky bidder at our annual fundraiser in October. As much as we love him, he tells us he wishes to help us raise more money to give away to even more kids so they can experience the arts!
