February 2019 Update:
Hello Donors and Potential Donors, below is an update on our activities as of February, 2019. The Fund’s balance is getting used well and our balance is just around $3,300.00 as we’ve dispersed a few gifts:
Recent Activities:
- We continue to work with the ARTS WEST “Lending Library,” a program intended to put instruments in the hands of people who can’t buy one outright.
- We sold one of Uncle Fun’s guitars (thru Blue Eagle Music) and discovered the actual owners of his other two guitars and returned them to him.
- We made contact with E. Coleman, a professional Luthier (expert guitar repairman) who wishes to get more involved in the Fund and perhaps offering repair services for low income people.
- We donated $1,000.00 to the “Stuarts After School Music Program”.
- We donated a few beginner guitars for an area teen’s Christmas Gift, arranged through Athens County Children’s services “Santa Tree Project.” See photo for a picture of Trustee Doug “Rat” Brooks posing with ACCS’s Robin Webb, showing off the Acoustic Guitar (and starter package) bought at Blue Eagle Music, also pictured is Blue Eagle owner Frank McDermott.
- We held “Lennonfest” on December 8, 2018, a musical tribute to John Lennon and the Beatles held at the Union Bar and all proceeds are going to be deposited into our fund. Total donation was $860.00 for this event.
We thank you for your interest in our February 2019 Update.
