January 2018 Update: Hello Donors and Potential Donors, below is an update on our activities as of December, 2017. The Fund’s balance is getting used well and our balance is just around $4,000.00 as we’ve dispersed a few gifts:
Recent Activities:
-
- $250 for an area teen’s Christmas Gift, arranged through Athens County Children’s services “Santa Tree Project.” See photo for a picture of Trustee Doug “Rat” Brooks posing with ACCS’s Robin Webb, showing off the the new Cort Acoustic Guitar (and starter package) bought at Blue Eagle Music.
- $150 to Factory Street Dance Studio, a local non profit focused on offering non competitive dance lessons to residents under the age of 18. This money was used to purchase a new Powered Amp Speaker, that the classes can plug their phones into to blast music loud enough to dance over. (See attached plaque.)
- And of course last quarters gift of $1,500.00 to three members of the Athens Marching Green and Gold, for a new bass drum, saxophone, and private lessons.
Future Activities:
We’ll be turning our attention to a nice instrument donation to the Arts West Musical Instrument Lending Library, a few private lessons for low income musicians in need of guitar lessons, and perhaps even a Spring Fundraiser with bands and friends, to refill the coffers, so to speak. Thank you for your interest in our January 2018 Update.
