This young man received a Soprano Ukulele kit with gig bag and tuner and a “learn to play Ukulele” book and songbook from the Athens Artists Memorial Project.
When one of his family members found themselves abruptly facing a serious medical condition, a family friend applied for funds thinking that a gift of a Ukulele would help him have something positive to focus on.
We were delighted to help and happy to hear that he has already taught himself a few songs.
We encouraged them to reapply for additional funding for lessons and now his little sister is interested as well!
