Hey Folks! Our second annual fundraiser took place at the Casa Cantina (in Athens, Ohio) on Tuesday, September 2023, and was a repeat success! We’re so thankful so many from the community took the time to come visit and enjoy the entertainment.
Our raffle items were a huge hit, and were made possible by very generous donations from local businesses such as Stewart-MacDonald, Athena Grand, O’Betties, Brownwood Farms, Milo’s Gourmet, Millers Chicken, Ohio is Home, Talcon Quinn, Swim Indie, Village Bakery, Snowville Creamery, The Union, Casa, Peoples Bank, Ciderworks, The Stitcherhood, and Blue Eagle Music.
Music was provided by Jerrod Goggans, Frank McDermott, the Stuarts After-School Music Program (featuring Exit 191), and the Come On Come Ons.
Our host Josh Brown (Casa Cantina Manager) and his attentive staff made sure the atmosphere was perfect, the music in tune, and the crowd was satiated.
One highlight of the night is when AAMP Board President Doug Brooks presented Stuart’s Opera House’s Adam Remnant a check for $1,000.00 so his group of student musicians could afford a PA to sing through. The whole thing came as a complete surprise to most (especially Adam!) and brought the whole event full circle, with smiles abounding.
The Auction Items combined with Raffle Tickets, as well as several private donations brought the total amount raised at the event to $1,800.00!
Lucian and Lori Spataro offered to match any funds brought in, so this event will spread a lot of help around the community.
We look forward to next years event, and again wish to thank all who attended and support us.
