Hi Folks – A few updates from our organization for March of 2022.
We’ve posted a new Memorial Page for Greg Anderson. Greg was a local musician who passed away in 2010. His wife Deb wrote the memorial text, and also donated a clarinet which is working its way into the hands of one of the local high school bands.
We also have an exciting new scholarship available! The Athens Artist Memorial Project (AAMP) Scholarship is to be awarded to a student from an Athens County High School who is pursuing a degree in the arts, arts education or art/music therapy. It is a need based scholarship. If the recipient no longer is pursuing a degree the scholarship will be withdrawn.
Other than that, we’ve been working with local band directors to find kids in need of musical instruments, gearing up for taxes, organizing an activity/ marketing calendar, and placing our name for consideration at local restaurants and organizations for their charitable programs. We thank Deb Anderson, and Mirium Hart each for their generous online donations last month, and will report back next month.
